Johnny’s Finishing Shop began after John Dudys Sr., a newly settled Ukrainian immigrant, honed his refinishing skills at the locally recognized Deilcraft Furniture. His experience at Delicraft and entrepreneurial spirit led to the opening of Johnny’s Finishing Shop in the early 1960s. Currently owned and managed by John Dudys Jr, the Shop has been the go-to refinishing business in Toronto and an active part of the thriving community. We’re proud to continue serving the GTA and look forward to lending our expertise to your upcoming projects.

At Johnnys Finishing, our workshop is designed to ensure top-quality craftsmanship at every stage of the restoration process.
Preparation Room
Every piece of furniture begins its transformation here, where it is hand-stripped and delicately hand-sanded to prepare for refinishing. This careful preparation ensures the best possible results.
Spray Room
After applying custom stains, the color is “locked in” using spray sealers, followed by multiple coats of lacquer. Between each coat, the furniture is air-dried in our steel, dust-free drying room and hand-rubbed to achieve a flawless, crystal-clear finish that enhances the natural beauty of the wood.
Upholstery Room
Our skilled craftsmen use premium materials, traditional techniques, and modern tools to restore worn pieces into showroom-quality furniture. Whether working with antique, modern, or custom upholstery, each piece is handled with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring results you’ll be proud to display in your home or office.
